Njavara Kizhi Treatment:
Njavara Kizhi, also known as Shashtika Shali Kizhi. It is a traditional classic Ayurvedic therapy. Boluses of medicinal Njavara rice and herbal extract are applied over the body to provide nourishment and strength. It is basically the combination of Sudation (Swedana) and Nourish therapy (Brimhana).
At Ayura Ayurvedic Clinic, we offer our signature Njavara Kizhi alongwith various Ayurvedic therapies to promote mental and physical rejuvenation.

How Njavara Kizhi is Performed:
Consultation:
Therapists analyze your health issues, body type, and any medical history. Based on this, the most suitable herbal ingredients are selected to achieve maximum benefit.
Preparation of bolus:
Special Njavara rice is cooked in an herbal decoction and cow’s milk. It is wrapped in several small boluses tightly.
Patient’s positioning:
The patient is asked to lie over a massage table. We design a serene room, so the patient feels relaxed throughout the therapy.
Application of Njavara Kizhi:
Firstly, we perform a full body massage with herbal oils to open pores and relax muscles. Warm Boluses are applied over the body with gentle pressure in circular motion.
Duration and monitoring:
Therapy usually takes 60 minutes for completion. The therapist monitors the temperature of the bolus. They repeatedly dip the bolus into the warm decoction to maintain its warmth and medicinal potency.
After-care treatment:
We remove excess rice material with a soft cloth. Hot water bath and steam are also recommended for proper detoxification. The patient is asked to take a rest for a while and take light, easy-to-digest meals.
