Nasyam Therapy

Nasyam therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment that is used for the detoxification of the nasal passage. Ayurvedic therapists believe that the nose is the gateway to the brain and the nervous system. Widely practiced as a part of Panchkarma, Nasyam therapy directly impacts the nervous and respiratory system and promotes balance between the body and mind.

Come to Ayura Ayurvedic Clinic to experience the most authentic Nasyam massage, where we integrate the ayurvedic principles with medicinal products to achieve mental clarity and overall wellness.

How Naysam Treatment is Performed

Consultation: First, our doctors consult with the patient to assess the physical health and dosh balance. It helps to select the right herbal oil or medicine tailored to the patient’s needs.

Pre Oil Massage and Steam: The procedure begins with a gentle oil massage around the head, neck, and shoulder to soften tissue and relax muscles. Then steam is given to the patient that clear the blockage of nasal detoxification, loosen the mucus, and help oil to penetrate deeply.

Positioning the Patient: The patient is asked to lie on a comfortable table while the head is slightly raised. It helps to pass medicines easily through the nostrils to the head and throat. Make the room disturbance-free, so the patient feels relaxed throughout the therapy.

Nasal Application: Warm medicated oils are instilled into each nostril using a dropper or palm. Patient gently inhales to pass the medicine to the throat and head.

Massage & Steam Support: Doctors gently massage the patient’s cheeks, forehead, and nose to ease absorption. Sometimes again, steam is given to clear mucus and relieve sinus congestion.

Toxins Expulsion: Doctors ask patients to spit out the excess medicine that drains into the throat. These steps help to remove mucus and eliminate toxins. Patient feels instant relief and lightness in the head.

Resting Phase: After the Naysam is completed, the patient is asked to rest for 20 to 30 minutes in a separate and calm room. So, the herbs can penetrate deeper and maximize their therapeutic effects.

Post-Treatment Care: Patients are advised to take light and easy digestible meals after the Naysam. Herbal teas and warm water are beneficial for better retention of the treatment. Cold drinks and junk foods are strictly avoided.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nasyam Therapy is not an expensive ayurvedic therapy, but the cost of treatment is not fixed. Its cost depends on different factors. It includes the location of the clinic, the type of Nasyam therapy, and the number of sessions required.

The best time for Nasyam therapy is mostly Morning, on an empty stomach, after brushing teeth or any cleansing routine. It allows oils to penetrate deeper into tissues and balance the Doshas effectively. But for some cases, such as stress management and relaxation, evening time is preferred.

Nasyam is not suitable for pregnant ladies, lactating mothers, or severe digestion problems. You should consult Ayurvedic experts before taking Nasyam therapy to ensure safety.

Oil used in Nasyam therapy depends on the patient’s condition. But the most common oils are Anu Oil, Shadbindu Oil, and Brahmi-based oil. These oils have the most inflammatory and detoxifying properties to restore a person’s health and balance the Doshas.

It depends on your health condition on what your body demands to recover. It varies from person to person. If you require general maintenance and nasal path clear, then a daily session of Naysam therapy is performed. For severe health conditions, practitioners are advised to take 2 or 3 sessions per week.
